Mexico has agreed to review alleged labor rights violations at Volkswagen facilities in Puebla, following a formal request from the United States under the USMCA. The U.S. Trade Representative had urged Mexico to investigate whether workers at the Volkswagen facility in Cuautlancingo, Puebla, were being deprived of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights. Mexican authorities now have 45 days to conduct the review to determine if labor rights were violated at the plant.
