MG, which was acquired by Chinese Shanghai Automotive Group, faced internal and external challenges when introduced by Zhonghua Car two years ago, but unexpectedly became a hot seller in Taiwan, even surpassing many competitors. Despite initial doubts within the Yulon Group about introducing MG, it was only after Yen Chen Li-Lien's approval that MG Taiwan was established, marking the start of MG's successful journey in Taiwan. The MG HS model has quickly become a top-selling mid-sized domestic SUV in Taiwan, putting pressure on major competitors such as Honda CR-V and Ford KUGA. Facing challenges from Toyota, Zhonghua Car decided to introduce MG to stay competitive, with the decision proving to be a success as MG became a rising star in Taiwan's car market.
