Malik Atkinson, a 26-year-old man from Opa-locka, coerced underage girls from Palm Beach and Broward into allowing him to commit statutory rape, recorded one incident on video, and made the victim sell the videos through social media. Atkinson pleaded guilty to online solicitation of a minor to commit a sexual act and was sentenced to 30 years in federal court. He will face at least 25 and a half years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release. The crimes involved sexual assault, producing child pornography, and soliciting others. Atkinson targeted two underage girls, one of whom he met on Twitter, and utilized Discord to communicate and arrange meetings for sexual encounters in his van and at a church.
