The legislative proposal by the executive branch regarding the exercise of the powers of the Legislative Yuan and certain articles of the Criminal Code were rejected by the Legislative Yuan the day before yesterday and may proceed to constitutional interpretation. Chen Yi questioned Taipei City Councilor Miao Boya's remarks at the Qing Niao Action outside the Legislative Yuan the night before, suggesting that public gatherings were aimed at influencing judicial independence, to which Miao Boya responded by criticizing Chen Yi for misinterpretation. Miao Boya clarified her speech, stressing the importance of freedom of speech and emphasizing the need for citizens to support the judiciary. She also expressed concern over potential constitutional crises should the Legislative Yuan fail to accept judgments by the grand justices. Miao Boya shared the verbatim transcript of her speech on June 21, expressing concerns over the refusal of some lawmakers to acknowledge the authority of the grand justices, and her hope that both ruling and opposition parties would recognize and abide by the rulings. Miao Boya further condemned the deliberate misinterpretation of her words by spreading biases through anonymous accounts and online influencers, urging for clarification and understanding from the public.
