Micron Expanding Production to Meet HBM Demand

With the surge in demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) due to the global AI boom, Micron, a major memory chip manufacturer in the US, is ramping up production by creating multiple testing lines in the US, considering HBM production in Malaysia, and expanding capacity in Taichung. They aim to significantly increase their HBM market share by 2025 to compete with SK Hynix and Samsung. Other players like Nvidia are driving the demand for HBM, with Micron being a key supplier. Amid the US-China chip war, the export of HBM-related technology to China is under consideration by the US government.
