Micron Secures $6 Billion Federal Funding for U.S. Chip Manufacturing

Micron Technology has been awarded up to $6.165 billion in federal grants under the CHIPS Act to boost semiconductor manufacturing in the U.S. The funding will support construction of new plants in New York and Idaho, as well as enhancements to its Virginia facility. Micron aims to invest approximately $100 billion in New York and $25 billion in Idaho over the next two decades, potentially creating around 20,000 jobs.
