Microsoft and OpenAI have announced a new collaboration, enabling OpenAI to become a for-profit entity while Microsoft secures a 27% stake valued at approximately $135 billion. The revised agreement grants Microsoft rights to OpenAI's intellectual property until 2032, although it will lose certain rights upon verification of OpenAI achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI). OpenAI can now also partner with third parties for product development. This partnership enhances both companies' positions in the competitive AI landscape.
