Microsoft has temporarily paused construction on parts of its $3.3 billion data center in Mount Pleasant, which is expected to support a supercomputer for OpenAI. The company confirmed the pause is to reassess the project in light of technological changes, though the first phase is on track for completion this year. Microsoft is investing significantly in AI data centers, allocating around $80 billion for the fiscal year to develop infrastructure for AI training and applications.
