After Microsoft released the latest version of Windows OS with upgraded Copilot application on June 17, 2024, the 21 new Copilot+PC models featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon X series chips have been unveiled since mid-June. The new Copilot+PC series will be globally available from June 18 onwards, driving a new wave of device upgrades. With an AI computing power starting at 45 TOPs, these devices are considered 'true AI laptops' by Microsoft, including new models from Microsoft's Surface Laptop/Surface Pro series, mainstream laptops from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, and more. The market entry for these Copilot+PC devices, primarily based on Qualcomm platforms, is expected to range from $1,100 to $2,500, targeting Apple's MacBook Pro series with M3 Pro platform. Dell has launched four new devices, showing keen interest in this trend, offering a limited yet competitive range in the ARM-based PC market. The Copilot+PC devices promise higher efficiency, longer battery life, and simplified heat management in comparison to x86 architecture devices of the same level. Major brands like Dell and Acer have expressed optimistic views on the development of AI PCs and are preparing to launch new products leveraging AMD Ryzen Strix Point, Halo platforms, and Intel Lunar Lake platforms in the coming months, introducing a third wave of AI PC shipments this year. The next phase of Copilot+PC devices with AMD and Intel new platforms on x86 architecture is expected to have enhanced specifications and AI computing power, leading to prices exceeding $2,500 to target high-end users focusing on top-notch performance and creative capabilities.
