Chicago White Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger has been placed on the injured list due to elbow soreness, leading to the team recalling Jake Woodford from Triple-A Charlotte to replace him in the rotation. Clevinger has struggled this season with a 6.75 ERA, prompting the team to sign him to a one-year deal back in April. Woodford, who previously played for the St. Louis Cardinals, is set to make his debut with the White Sox. The team also designated Sammy Peralta for assignment, keeping their roster at 40 players.
