Military Cancels 'Red Army' Role in Han Kuang Exercise, Scholar Suggests Reducing Scale to Maintain

Reported 8 months ago

The upcoming annual 'Han Kuang 40' exercise by the Taiwanese military is set to take place from July 22 to 26, with the decision to completely cancel the attacking force (KJU) made by national security high-level officials to avoid escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait. This cancellation could impact the amphibious and airborne combat capabilities of the military. Scholars suggest that if the exercises involving the 'Red Army' are indeed canceled, reducing the scale to company-level drills could achieve training objectives.
