Investigators and experts suggest it's challenging to determine the extent of child sexual abuse material on OnlyFans due to individual paywalls for its 3.2 million creators. While OnlyFans voluntarily reports any suspected child abuse material and made 347 CyberTipline reports in 2023, verifying the actual amount of such material independently is difficult. Police typically can't access content behind paywalls without OnlyFans' assistance, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) only has limited access to reported accounts. OnlyFans appointed an independent monitor in 2021, Michael Ward, but had no comment on his role when contacted by Reuters.
