FTNN News, June 6, 2024 - Minister of Economic Affairs, Guo Zhichui, mentioned during a legislative session that if the law is amended, the Second and Third Nuclear Power Plants can have their licenses extended. This statement was questioned by the public as it seemed contradictory to the DPP's anti-nuclear stance. However, during a dinner with DPP legislators on the 6th, Prime Minister Su Tseng-chang mentioned that after a thorough discussion, their positions are now very aligned. Su mentioned that the focus is on stable electricity supply until 2030, continued development of renewable energy, and implementing the non-nuclear homeland policy in accordance with the law.
