A man surnamed Liao, around 60 years old, went missing after leaving home in Uray District, Taichung City, and was found stuck in a drain near Lane 612 on Zhonghua Road at around 10 p.m. on June 25. After hearing his cries for help, authorities and special search teams used various equipment for nearly 2 hours to successfully rescue Liao, who had been trapped for 5 days. Despite receiving multiple injuries, Liao remained conscious and was rushed to Darrah-Happiness Hospital for treatment. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of his ordeal.
