Misinterpretation of Behaviors Linked to Pancreatic Cancer: Food Left in the Freezer Too Long and Unknown Cookware Material

Reported 8 months ago

Recent claims suggesting that behaviors like leaving food in the freezer for too long, hesitating to throw away moldy food, and using cookware made of unknown materials could lead to pancreatic cancer have been deemed as 'incorrect' by the Taiwan Fact-Checking Center. While these behaviors may pose health risks, they are not established as causes of pancreatic cancer. Medical research has yet to pinpoint the exact causes of pancreatic cancer, and known risk factors like alcohol consumption, high blood sugar, and chronic pancreatitis do not directly link to the disease. Misinterpretations between risk factors and causal relationships have been highlighted by experts, emphasizing that popular claims do not equate these factors with directly causing pancreatic cancer.
