A Japanese netizen shared his elementary school daughter's math test, which included a question '18÷0=?'. The daughter correctly asnwered 'no answer', but the teacher scolded her and insisted the answer should be '0'. This sparked controversy online with opinions divided on the teacher's correction. According to reports, the calculation '÷0' is mathematically invalid, as demonstrated by calculators and phones returning errors for '18÷0'. Despite strong criticism for the teacher's error, some argue that distinguishing between '18÷0' and '0÷8' may not be crucial for elementary school students. Tokyo University-born author Bushikawa Tenma pointed out that this is a fundamental and serious mistake.
