Gerrit Cole made his second disastrous start of the season at the 'Subway Series' between the Yankees and Mets, allowing 4 home runs in just 4 innings, marking a very disgraceful record. This was only the second time in his career that Cole failed to strike out any batters in a game, with his ERA against the Mets being the worst among all MLB teams at 5.89. It was also the second time in his career he had given up 4 home runs in a single game, with the first being on June 10, 2022, against the Twins.
