MLB/Shohei Ohtani Challenges 50 Home Runs in a Season with 'June Fury', Aiming to Rewrite Team History Record

Reported 12 months ago

Dodgers' Japanese two-way star Shohei Ohtani recently entered the 'June Fury' mode, hitting his 26th home run of the season on June 30th, potentially aiming to reach 50 home runs in a season and challenge Shawn Green's team record of 49 home runs set in 2001. Ohtani's 12 home runs in June are the second-most in team history for a single month, behind Pedro Guerrero's 15 in 1985 and Cody Bellinger's 13 in 2017. With one game left in June, Ohtani still has a chance to set a new record as the Dodgers defeated the Giants 14-7 in extra innings, maintaining their position at the top of the NL West division.
