Reported 8 months ago

As of June 19, 2024, in Mainland China, the popularity of mobile payments reaches an impressive 86%, ranking first globally. This convenience has led to many elementary school students nowadays not recognizing what paper money and coins look like or how to use them. Concerns have been raised by scholars in Mainland China that without the experience of handling physical money, children may lack the concept of budgeting. TVBS organized a test with Beijing primary school students, and despite being familiar with physical currency, many had never used it, relying on their parents' mobile payments instead.
