With the implementation of New York City's congestion pricing toll, morning commute times into Manhattan have significantly decreased. Data from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority shows that travel times have dropped by nearly half on the Holland Tunnel and by 30% on both the Queensboro and Williamsburg Bridges. The toll aims to reduce traffic, improve air quality, and generate funds for the aging transit system, resulting in around 33,000 fewer vehicles entering south of 60th Street daily. Subway and express bus ridership has also increased as commuters shift to mass transit.
