On the evening of June 29, 2024, in the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, a tour bus parked in the large car parking lot caused an accident when it slid and hit a mother and daughter. The driver apparently did not engage the handbrake, leading to the incident. The mother suffered a right knee fracture and was sent to the hospital, while the daughter had minor injuries. Fortunately, both were conscious. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
