A fire broke out in New Taipei City's Tucheng District, claiming the lives of 3 individuals, suspected to have been caused by an explosion of lithium batteries being charged. The building's structure revealed the blaze originated at the blocked doorway on the 4th floor, trapping a mother and son who succumbed to smoke inhalation and died. Another victim, the daughter's boyfriend, perished on the 7th floor due to collapsing metal sheets. The family, mainly engaged in gardening, was charging lithium batteries when the unexpected explosion occurred. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire. Despite the fire being extinguished, high temperatures on the 7th floor require waiting for the bodies to be removed.
