Taiwanese Air Force cadet Xu Haoming, studying at the U.S. Air Force Academy, was in a serious car accident in Colorado on May 25 while driving his mother and grandmother. While Xu suffered minor injuries, both his grandmother and mother required major surgeries and were placed in intensive care for observation. Representative Wang Ting-yu visited Xu Haoming's father in Penghu and donated NT$100,000 in support. Xu's mother is scheduled to return to Taiwan on a medical charter flight on June 24 for further treatment at Tri-Service General Hospital with the assistance of the Ministry of National Defense, Air Force Command, and various sectors of society's efforts.
