A mother in North Carolina has filed a lawsuit against Charlotte Hornets player LaMelo Ball and the team, alleging that Ball ran over her 11-year-old son's foot with his car at a fan event last fall. The incident occurred when the son asked for an autograph and Ball allegedly accelerated his vehicle, breaking the boy's foot. The lawsuit claims negligence on Ball's part for failing to yield to a pedestrian and on the Hornets for not providing adequate security measures. Ball, who appeared in 22 games last season due to an ankle injury, will enter the first year of a five-year, $204 million contract extension with the team.
