Mother Who Caused Double Tragedy by Drowning Her Two Daughters Faces Murder Charges After Interrogation

Reported about 1 year ago

A mother surnamed Jia has been detained for questioning on suspicion of murder after her two daughters, aged 9 and 10, drowned in New Taipei City's Bitan. Jia, who reportedly had conflicts with her in-laws and husband, took her daughters to the river and let them go, resulting in their tragic deaths. Following failed suicide attempts and reporting to the police, Jia was taken into custody. Investigation revealed marital and family disputes as contributing factors. Jia's husband, who lives in Hunan, had moved the family back to Taiwan, where tensions with her in-laws had escalated. Language barriers and cultural differences compounded the situation, leading to the heartbreaking incident.
