In Taichung, Taiwan, a man named Lin was riding a UBike with his mother when they were hit by a sedan after running a red light, resulting in Lin being fatally crushed under the car. His mother, who had just watched him leave the hospital, was devastated and questioned the driver for not braking. Despite the driver testing negative for alcohol, she will be charged with negligent homicide. Lin's mother tearfully recounted the tragic event and criticized the driver for not applying the brakes, expressing that her son would have only been injured if the driver had done so. Lin, an experienced cyclist on the route from Taichung to Houlil, was tragically killed in the accident.
