According to CTWANT, since the 1920s, over 300 people have died on Mount Everest, with 8 fatalities this season alone. The effects of climate change are causing the ice and snow to melt, exposing hundreds of climbers' bodies, with an estimated 200 still remaining on the mountain. The Nepalese military has been conducting annual clean-up operations in the Himalayas, removing 11 tons of garbage and several bodies since 2019. The challenging process of retrieving bodies at high altitudes involves significant costs and manpower, with special teams working to bring the deceased climbers down. Despite the difficulties, the military believes this rescue work is necessary to prevent the mountain from becoming a graveyard.
