Taiwan Television News website reported on June 10, 2024, at 7:25 PM that the Central Weather Bureau indicated the southwest wind continues to affect Taiwan, leading to intermittent brief showers or thunderstorms in areas south of Miaoli. Rainfall in southern regions is more extensive, with significant rainfall in mountainous areas expected in the afternoon, increasing the likelihood of heavy rain. The north to Hsinchu and Yilan in the east will experience cloudy to clear skies, with possible brief thunderstorms in the afternoon. Residents are reminded to be cautious of landslides, falling rocks, and rapid stream water in mountainous areas due to loose soil. Temperatures range between 24 to 36 degrees Celsius across different regions, with hot and humid weather when it is not raining, so it is advised to stay hydrated when outdoors. Strong southwest winds may bring strong gusts to open coastal areas in the north, Lan Yu, and Green Island. Kinmen and Matsu may experience low clouds or fog affecting visibility, so travelers to and from these islands should check flight information. Air quality varies, with northern regions susceptible to pollutant accumulation due to wind directions, while other areas are rated as 'good' or 'moderate' on the air quality index. For more details, refer to the Central Weather Bureau and Environmental Protection Administration websites.
