In Chiayi, a man surnamed Chen broke into his ex-wife's current boyfriend's home in the early hours and fatally attacked the boyfriend and his son with a machete before fleeing. The police identified Chen and found him in a motel this morning, where he likely shot himself. Both Chen and the boyfriend died, while the son is still receiving medical treatment. Chen used a ladder to enter the balcony and committed the crime from the second floor. The motive for the incident remains under investigation.
