On June 22, 2024, Tzu Chi TV aired a series of stories on refugee life in Malaysia, highlighting a family of seven who have lived in Malaysia for 20 years but faced difficulties accessing public education due to their status. The family found hope through Tzu Chi's Hualien Learning Center, where the children could finally aspire for a better future. A Burmese refugee, Mohamad Yunus, emphasized the importance of education, sending four of his children to study at the center following a curriculum by the Cambridge International Primary Program.
