On June 9, in New Taipei City's Tamsui District, a Chinese man was apprehended by coast guard personnel after illegally attempting to enter Taiwan by boat through the Tamsui River. The man had sailed from Fuzhou on a boat, which was later intercepted near the Fisherman's Wharf. Following interrogation and investigation, the man was transferred to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office for further handling, and his motive for the illegal entry is still under investigation.
