In an operation led by Kaohsiung District Prosecutors' Office and involving multiple units, a yacht smuggling drugs into Taiwan was intercepted in the wee hours after attempting to evade authorities by ramming into a patrol boat. Nearly a ton of ketamine, estimated to be worth $900 million, was confiscated. The daring interception involved rough seas and the arrest of six suspects, including the Taiwanese captain and crew members responsible for smuggling the drugs from Southeast Asia to Taiwan for distribution. Collaboration with multiple countries and agencies helped prevent a large quantity of drugs from reaching the Taiwanese market.
