Hendrick Motorsports has not yet requested a waiver for Kyle Larson to preserve playoff eligibility if he misses the start of the Coca-Cola 600, but discussions have taken place between the team and NASCAR. A NASCAR spokesman confirmed talks but stated that no decision would be made until a formal waiver request is submitted. Larson, aiming to race in both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600, faced a rain delay but had not requested the waiver prior to the events unfolding.
