Minister of National Defense Gu Li-xiong, a lawyer by profession, stated that the exercise of the Legislative Yuan's investigative power is merely a supplementary right, and the investigated objects are not unlimited, cautioning that expanding the scope to include over a thousand units below the Ministry of National Defense would seriously infringe on potential confidentiality. The Legislative Yuan held a committee meeting to review the Executive Yuan's objection to the National Assembly reform amendment proposal, inviting Premier Cho Jung-tai and department heads for questioning. The bills involve fining up to NT$100,000 for entities violating relevant regulations under the exercise of investigative powers, with concerns raised regarding the potential impact on national defense, military, and technological confidentiality if the investigative scope is not appropriately limited.
