The position of president at the Chung-Hua Economic Research Institute, a national think tank, has been vacant for over a month. The board of directors is considering inviting Professor Lien Hsien-Ming from the Department of Finance at National Chengchi University to fill the role, with the new appointment awaiting approval from the Executive Yuan. Lien has a background in economics and has been involved in various academic and administrative roles, including at Taiwan's National Taiwan University and the Academia Sinica. The appointment process is expected to be completed by late July to meet a target start date of August 1st.
