On July 5, 2024, the Constitutional Court temporarily held a hearing on the National Congress reform legislation constitutional interpretation case. The People's Party announced the appointment of lawyer Lin Shi-meng as the Legislative Yuan's legal representative and also nominated its party leader, Huang Kuo-chang, as the institutional representative. The KMT later revealed their appointments, nominating Chen Ching-hsiu and Zhang Gui-mei as legal representatives and KMT legislators Weng Hsiao-ling and Wu Tsung-hsien as institutional representatives. The legislators are tasked with representing various parties for the constitutional interpretation, with the appointments reflecting the commitment to parliamentary reform and upholding the dignity of Congress.
