On June 28, 2024, at 9:48 am, the National Defense Department's Armaments Bureau was reportedly searched by the Taoyuan District Prosecutors' Office. A Colonel surnamed Lin and several vendors were taken in for questioning. The case is suspected to be related to irregularities in the procurement of 'bulletproof fiber fabric.' Following the interrogation, the Taoyuan Prosecutors' Office applied for detention under the Government Procurement Act, with no decision currently made. The investigation also involved searches at different military facilities. The Prosecutor's Office indicated concerns of collusion and evidence tampering among 4 individuals, leading to the detention request.
