As of June 9, 2024, on the second day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the traffic volume on the national highways totaled 29.9 million vehicle-kilometers by 11 a.m., with an estimated daily traffic volume expected to reach 112 million vehicle-kilometers according to the Directorate General of Highways. The main congested sections are on the northbound of National Freeway No.1 and southbound of National Freeway No.5. With accidents causing significant traffic jams, travelers are advised to plan their departure times strategically to avoid congestion. The Directorate General of Highways also reminds the public to check their vehicles before setting out, ensure rest, wear seat belts, maintain safe driving practices, and refrain from speeding, fatigue, and distractions while driving.
