As technology advances every year, the wave of artificial intelligence is sweeping the world. Taiwan's National Health Insurance has accumulated 25 years of medical declaration data, making it the best foundation for developing AI applications in medical big data. To enhance the country's medical AI development capacity, Taiwan's National Health Insurance Administration's Director-General Li Bo-chang signed a memorandum of cooperation with Quanta Computer Inc.'s Chairman, Lin Bai-li. Quanta will donate an AI medical cloud computing integration platform system to the National Health Insurance Administration to accelerate AI applications. With a structured data of 8.5 billion records annually, the National Health Insurance is the world's only national medical image database. The Administration has been implementing AI technology development environments and opened applications for the AI usage project in June 2019. Within six months, 17 research teams, including collaborations from academia and medical sectors, have utilized the structured data to develop AI models for disease prediction, medical image interpretation assistance, and postoperative risk prediction, aiming to be applied in clinical medical fields as the 'best tool' for smart precision healthcare.
