The Kuomintang Caucus in the Legislative Yuan is proposing amendments to the Recall and Election Law to raise the recall threshold in anticipation of potential recall campaigns against blue camp legislators next year. Both the People First Party Chairman Ko Wen-je and Kuomintang Chairman Eric Chu independently pointed out the 'secret' that makes current recall actions easy to pass—no need to provide a copy of the ID card, allowing for potential falsification of signatures. Both advocated for stricter verification processes to prevent misuse of the recall system for political purposes.
