The 113th National Great Pumpkin Contest was won by Chen Dengran from Sanzhi District with a 657-pound pumpkin. The event organized by the Danshui District Farmers' Association in New Taipei City featured various activities including creative pumpkin displays, a farmers' market, pumpkin DIY experiences, and agricultural education workshops. Due to an earthquake in Hualien in April, local organic produce was also sold. New Taipei City officials highlighted the growth of pumpkin cultivation in the region and encouraged the use of local pumpkins in culinary creations, with Sanzhi becoming a representative area for this agricultural product.
