Reporter Lin Mengjie/ Taipei Real-time Report, June 28, 2024, 5:23 AM: Former National Security Bureau cashier Liu Guanjun embezzled over a billion yuan from the confidential accounts, using his wife Meng Wenhua's name to buy a five-storey villa in Muzha, Taipei. The Shilin District Prosecutor's Office entrusted the Taipei Branch of the Administrative Enforcement Agency to auction it, with the third auction scheduled on July 2 at '123 Joint Auction'. The starting price has been reduced to 37.3 million yuan. Liu Guanjun was allegedly involved in embezzling significant funds and interest from national security projects in 1999. Following the incident, he immediately fled the country. The Shilin District Prosecutor's Office applied for the separate confiscation of properties under Liu Guanjun and Meng Wenhua's names. The court ruled to confiscate Meng Wenhua's property on Xiuming Road, Wenshan District, Taipei, and 154.04 million yuan of Liu Guanjun's unseized criminal gains. Taipei Branch mentioned that Meng Wenhua's property is a five-storey building, with a total land area of 153.97 square meters and a floor area of approximately 457.39 square meters, currently uninhabited. This is the third auction, with the starting price reduced from 58 million yuan to 37.3 million yuan. Furthermore, tax debtor and founder of Emperor Group Chen Youhao failed to pay over 400 million yuan in comprehensive income tax and land tax and has not returned since leaving the country. The Taipei Branch will also auction 18 pieces of land under his name in Shiding District and Shenkeng District of New Taipei City. These 18 pieces of land are currently forested, with a total area of about 79.1 hectares being divided into two lots for auction, with a total starting price of 390.22 million yuan.
