According to a report by SET News on July 8, 2024, the National Security Bureau stated that TikTok and Little Red Book are platforms for distributing controversial information. Director of the National Security Bureau, Cai Mingyan, urged the public to be cautious of cybersecurity issues and avoid downloading software with security risks. Cai Mingyan emphasized the importance of addressing abnormal accounts related to controversial information promptly to prevent its spread. He also mentioned investigations into abnormal accounts domestically and sharing intelligence with international allies to handle the problems caused by abnormal information dissemination. Cai Mingyan highlighted the cybersecurity risks of popular social media apps and emphasized the need for vigilance among the over 5 million TikTok users in Taiwan.
