On June 18, 2024, National Taiwan Ocean University held the unveiling ceremony of the Mulan Marine and Maritime Education Building. Dr. Zhao Xicheng, honorary doctor of NTOU and founder of the U.S. Famao Group, along with the first Asian-American female cabinet member in the U.S., Dr. Elaine Chao, unveiled the emotional building in Keelung. The new building aims to provide students with a better learning and living environment to cultivate more international maritime talents. Despite cost escalation during the construction process, Dr. Zhao Xicheng generously donated $1 million through the Zhao Zhu Mulan Foundation, helping realize the building's construction. The Mulan Building not only stands as a physical structure but also symbolizes inspiration for future NTOU students.
