On July 2, 2024, at 4:10 pm, Cathay United Bank led a syndicate loan of 2.6 billion NT dollars for IC design firm Genesys Semiconductor Co., Ltd. This marked their first syndicated credit case since establishment and Taiwan's first IC design acquisition syndicated loan. The funding will support the acquisition of IP company Qianzhan Technology Co., Ltd., with banks subscribing 1.58 times oversubscription, showcasing Cathay United Bank and other banks' support for local AI enterprises. Genesys aims to enhance its semiconductor offerings through acquisitions and strategic investments, with the latest acquisition of Qianzhan Technology positioning them as a comprehensive IP and ASIC platform in the semiconductor industry, attracting significant attention.
