In a recent decision by National Taiwan University (NTU), the Medical Department will no longer consider English scores for admissions and will instead consider social sciences. The change will also affect the grading standards, with only Chinese scores being considered. The new system will be implemented starting in the 115th academic year, applicable to current high school freshmen. The decision was made to emphasize social and humanities aspects over English skills due to the evolving societal needs for AI, metaverse, and innovative ideas.
