National Taiwan University (NTU) medical school has decided to no longer consider English in its admissions process starting from the academic year 2024. Instead, the focus will be on social sciences to promote a well-rounded education for future medical professionals. The decision comes as part of an effort to balance the emphasis on science and technology with a stronger focus on humanities, aiming to cultivate innovative and holistic thinking among students. This change aligns NTU's medical school admissions with other institutions such as Fu Jen Catholic University and China Medical University, which have already implemented similar social science evaluations in their admissions processes.
