The citizen group 'Mountain and Sea Civilian Demolition Action' pushing for the recall of Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang announced that the signatures have exceeded 40,000, meeting the requirements for the second phase, set to be submitted on July 5. Following this, the Nationalist Party plans to establish a 'Protecting Keelung Task Force' and launch a 'Protect Keelung, Anti-Evil Recall' campaign, one of which includes recalling the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) city council speaker Tong Ziwei. This initiative comes after a property dispute earlier this year involving the Keelung City Government and NET's 'East Coast Shopping Mall,' which sparked public outcry and calls for recalls of Nationalist Party lawmakers.
