Nationalist Party legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin accused the Democratic Progressive Party of discussing reports on 'Yes Telecom' in a party-government meeting, claiming that mobile signal data mentioned by policy executive Wang Yi-chuan was related to the chairman of Yes Telecom, who is a confidant of President Lai Ching-te. The Presidential Office spokesperson sternly denied these claims, stating they were baseless and intended to defame, clarifying there is no association between Lai Ching-te and Yes Telecom or its affiliates, urging legislators not to make unfounded accusations for political gain. Hsu also mentioned reports linking the telecommunications chairman to Lai Ching-te, emphasizing interactions between the company and the Democratic Progressive Party's 'New Tide' faction, with the company being a subsidiary of Chunghwa Telecom. The Presidential Office reiterated that these were unfounded claims intended to tarnish reputations.
