Kuomintang legislator Wang Hong-wei, accompanied by other lawmakers, filed a lawsuit at the Taipei District Prosecutors Office accusing Democratic Progressive Party legislator Lin Chuyin of assault. According to Wang, Lin initiated the physical altercation by hitting her multiple times, causing her to retaliate in self-defense. Wang emphasized that the truth must be revealed and condemned the DPP for initiating violence and then attempting to press charges. The incident occurred during a legislative committee session discussing amendments to the Recall Act for Public Servants. The situation escalated further when physical altercations broke out between legislators from different political parties.
